Xander Singh does music things. Raised in Boston, based in Los Angeles, he began his career in music as the songwriter, vocalist, and multi instrumentalist in Pepper Rabbit while also composing music for commercials and television. After disbanding, he joined the band Passion Pit, touring around the world for 3 years until health issues forced him off the road.
Since ending his touring career, Xander has moved in the direction of production and songwriting, having worked with the likes of Selena Gomez (The Heart Wants What It Wants), Kimbra (90's Music, Teen Heat), Sara Bareilles, Foster the People, Computer Magic, Cayucas, and many others. Also diving into the world of film composition, he scored feature films such as That’s Not Us (available on Netflix), The Ring Thing(2018), Shotgun (2018)as well as numerous short films.
Working out of his home studio in the Silver Lake neighborhood of LA, Xander has become well known for his use of modular synthesizers, as well as other non traditional electronic instruments, which has seen him become a sought after musical sound designer for film and television, having worked on documentaries produced by HBO and CNN, and collaborated with composers such as Joseph Trapanese and Ian Hultquist.
2016 saw Xander accepting a staff position at the renowned music + sound design firm 'Stimmüng' for 6 months as well as the release of his long awaited debut solo effort, "Muffin" released in December via Hit City USA.
When not doing music things, you can usually find Xander at home cooking way to much food for one person to eat, or snuggling up in his reading nook with a cup of hot tea and a book on either the JFK assassination or NASA's Apollo missions.
